Chalet Phoenix (Rougemont) Gstaad, Switzerland
Luxury alpine chalet above Rougemont
This south facing chalet is located on the hill above Rougemont village 10 km from Gstaad. Geneva airport is a one and a hlaf hour drive away, but for those who prefer, there is Saanen airport which is accessible for private aircraft. The chalet is reached via a small private access, just off the Chateau d’Oex road. There are other chalets in the vicinity, however, the 5’000 square metre garden offers a lot of privacy and once you are in the chalet you are not aware of those around you. The chalet was built in 2007 by a local architect in an alpine style that is in keeping with the region. The ski pistes and the shops and restaurants of the town centre are all within a five minute drive.
Pale wood panelling with detailed inlays and solid broad beam wooden floors throughout the chalet combine with a warm decor in neutral tones and personal touches of family photos and books, to give a warm and cosy atmosphere. The open plan sitting and dining area are coherently decorated in light browns and beige with lush velvet sofas, a chunky wooden coffee table and thick pile cream rugs around a central log fireplace. The chalet is spread over three levels, with the children’s bedrooms on the lower floor, the adult bedrooms on the first floor and the living area in the middle at ground level.
