Klosters Switzerland

Prince Charles has good taste: this is a lovely resort

Klosters is a charming Swiss village, very close to Davos, with a reputation that reaches far and wide due to the annual visits made to the resort by Prince Charles and other members of the British royal family. You are roughly two hours drive from Zurich and about an hour from St. Moritz if the Fluelapass is open. This is not a resort for wild partying but rather for families who wish to spend time together and is perfect for chalet holidays in this respect.

Klosters is an unpretentious village, with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. There is certainly an exclusive social scene here, but it goes on discreetly, out of the public eye. The village has an attractive alpine style, and at Klosters Platz you will find a collection of smart yet traditional hotels. For non-skiers, there are spas nearby, a sport and leisure centre and pleasant walks in the surrounding areas.

Located only a stone’s throw from Davos, these two resorts share a huge, well-marked piste network with superb skiing for all levels. Madrisa, Klosters' own ski area, is perfect for beginners and children, whilst the Gotschna cable-car takes skiers up to a range of challenging reds on Gotschnagrat and Parsenn.
