St. Moritz Switzerland
Possibly the most beautiful destination in the Alps
St. Moritz is one of several resort villages in one of the most beautiful natural areas in the Alps: the Engadine valley. Others are Celerina, Pontresina, Silvaplana, Survetta, La Punt, and Samedan to name a few. Each has its own distinct character and clientele. St. Moritz is frequented by English, Germans and Italians but you will find a sample of all nationalities and languages in this very exclusive resort.
St. Moritz has excellent intermediate skiing and, for those with a wish for the extreme, there is Corvatsch which is accessed from Silvaplana. In most cases you will not find ski-in ski-out conditions (exception Survetta) so count on driving to your chosen ski area (or walking, taking the bus or the train). The Engadine is also the world's capital when it comes to cross-country skiing.
Relaxation, or otherwise put, socialising, seems to have as much importance in St. Moritz as sport. Under the beautiful starlit skies of the Engadine valley there is something for everyone. Excellent restaurants abound, an inviting casino offers you the chance to test your luck, and the King's nightclub dazzles for those who want to dance until the early hours.
