Can Lligat Cadaqués, Spain

A villa in Dali's backyard

Built from the natural slate rock of its immediate surroundings, this luxury villa has been designed with great thought and care to make it blend in with the landscape. It was designed by the well known Catalan architect, Fernando Torrent, and the interiors were done by Mikkel Aranburuzabala of Bilbao, creating light filled, modern and spacious luxury. The villa is set in a 10'000 square metre estate and the landscaped gardens are filled with olive trees, bougainvillea and rosemary bushes. The area is remote and the villa private, so this is ideal for those looking for a quiet escape from the crowds.

No expense has been spared in the thoughtful design of this modern home. The décor is contemporary and understated with an emphasis on clean lines and open spaces. There are several different living areas for relaxation in groups or spaces to go and be alone. The bedrooms are all of a generous size and comfort is the key word. The master suite has not one but two en suite bathrooms as well as a dressing room and lovely views of the bay. There is much to keep one entertained with both an infinity pool, a sauna, an outdoor jacuzzi, a cinema area, and an artists painting studio. The patio has a comfortable dining area with Dedon furniture where you can dine al fresco. Dali's former home is just around the corner as this was the area of Cadaques he chose to live and paint in.
