Villa Sabine Rome, Italy
Luxury retreat in Roman Countryside
The villa is located sixty kilometres north of Rome in the heart of the Lazio countryside which is well known for its Roman ruins and is full of olive groves and cypress trees. With tourism mainly concentrated in Rome, the outlying areas are much quieter and less populated and are ideal for those looking for a quiet escape away from crowded tourist spots. This was the former homeland of the Etruscans and for those keen on a bit of cultural exploration, there are many archaeological sites to be visited, while for the beach lovers you are an hours drive from the Roman coast with many sandy beaches and rocky coves. There is a gravel road leading up the hillside to the villa which is set in a 3’000 square metre property that is gated and fenced; allowing a good deal of privacy.
This luxury villa dating from the 16th century has been restored by the renowned architect Romano Patrizio Paris and combines classic elements of architecture, art and interiors with stylish contemporary Italian furnishings in neutral tones of white and grey. The architect has succeeded in creating a light filled interior using the high vaulted ceilings and large arched windows in the main sitting room. Guests enjoy two living rooms with fireplaces, beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms, and charming dining areas that invite guests to linger over the treasures of Italian cuisine prepared by our resident chef. A grand white staircase leads up to a small art gallery with a large square sofa that dominates the space. The cobblestone terrace with chunky rattan armchairs overlooks the landscaped gardens and the rolling countryside views.
