Villa Cerina Corfu, Greece
Forest refuge with a secluded beach
This luxury villa is located five minutes drive from the lively beachfront town of Ipsos, with its many tavernas and bars, and thirty minutes from Corfu town centre. While these resorts can be very busy, especially in the height of summer, this villa remains private as it is set in a secluded 50’000 square metre forest with eucalyptus and cypress trees and cannot be seen from the road. The villa was built in 1978 in a style typical in Corfu and it was renovated in 2007. At the bottom of the garden a path leads through the trees and down to a charming pebble beach, whose only other access is by boat, making it an ideal hideaway from the crowds.
The interior of the villa is sleek and modern yet retains a Mediterranean flavour with its high wooden beamed ceilings, tiled floors and expansive archways. The decor in the open living and dining area is simple and understated in neutral tones with hints of colour. There are large French doors off the sitting area which maximise the views and provide plenty of light. The covered terrace off the open plan living area has modern rattan furniture for comfortable outdoor dining on warm summer evenings with dramatic views over the infinity pool to the Ionian sea.
