Villa Miki Lucca, Italy

A 19th Century Jewel just outside Lucca

Nestled in 50 acres of pine forests and olive groves, this luxury villa lies about eight kilometres to the south of Lucca in the small village of Vormo. This is an impressive 19th Century villa with the chapel dating back as far as the 13th century. The villa is approached through impressive wrought iron gates which lead into the gravel courtyard where there is parking for five cars. It has an extensive garden with a floodlit tennis court, large swimming pool and several outside sitting areas. Lucca is one of our favourite areas of Italy in the summer and has the advantage of being close to the sea.

With over 600 square meters of living space, the villa offers large volumes and is an ideal location for family groups; reunions; corporate events or even as a film set. It also has a beautiful consecrated chapel for those looking for an unusual location for a wedding. The personality of the English owners and their love of their home are reflected in the eclectic decor which mixes comfortable chunky English furniture with Tuscan antiques, all selected over the years by the owners. The result is a warm, enchanting and intimate environment. There is an impressive formal dining room which can seat up to 40 people, but for cosier meals there is a family dining room. However our favourites are the large table in the farmhouse style kitchen with its flagstone floor and wood beamed ceiling or dining al fresco next to the heated swimming pool.
