Villa Petra Kea (Tzia), Greece
The great escape
Tzia (or Kea) is one of Greece’s best kept secrets. This island hideaway offers a rare combination of easy access (it is just a two hour trip away from Athens) and remoteness. Still largely undiscovered by foreigners, the island is a popular destination for Athenians. The beaches on the island are some of the best in the Cyclades offering beautiful sand and crystal blue waters.
Carved into the rocks 450m above sea level, the villa is of a linear architectural style with volumes that allow it to blend harmoniously into the island landscape. Here you can escape from the midday sun to the cool tones of the large sitting room where the neutral colours and modern design of the décor are enhanced by the bare stone walls and polished cement floors. Where better to have sun downers than on a lounger around the infinity pool drinking in the views of the deep blue Aegean Sea.
