Villa Lario Como, Italy
On the shores of the lake
This villa, on the left bank of Lake Como, reminds you of the magnificent period when the very richest all had properties along the shores of Europe's Alpine lakes. Lake Como is now back in fashion (helped in part by Hollywood and a few famous movie stars) and this villa, in particular, stands out due to the quality of its restoration in 2005. Frescoed ceilings, impressive living rooms of a size that is rarely seen today, and a large Italian garden in the form of a private park, allow you to once again enjoy the luxuries of a bygone era.
Part of the villa is closed off. Guest have access to the ground floor and the wings of the first and second floors. The central section of the first floor and the second floor are used as a museum of the owner's private collection of art, that can be visited only by appointment (and not at the same time as guests are renting the property). There are six comfortable en suite bedrooms elegantly furnished in a classical Italian style with many lovely antiques. This is a place where you will travel back in time, surrounded by an atmosphere of luxury and tranquillity.
